Start here: the Sibe onboarding series
You can go from an empty account to a checked-in assembly with approved revisions by working through twelve short videos, in order, in a single afternoon.
Ken Maren, Chief Solutions Architect at Sibe, walks every step. Each video has a written article to go with it, so you can watch it once and come back to the steps later.
Three ways through the series. Click any step below to open its written guide. Use the Related articles list on the left of this page to jump straight to any of them. Or watch the full onboarding playlist on YouTube end to end.
The series
Set up
- 01 · Create your Sibe account: sign up, answer the setup survey, land in your workspace · 1:53
- 02 · Install the add-in for SOLIDWORKS® 3D CAD: the Windows install, plus the two steps that prevent most problems · 1:36
- 03 · Complete the Setup Guide: sign in from SolidWorks, cache a folder, check in your first files · 4:05
Configure
- 04 · Workspace settings: metadata, sync and references: what carries over from SolidWorks, and who sees what · 5:46
- 05 · Seats, roles and folder permissions: who can open what, and how folder access overrides it · 6:15
- Set up billing and choose your plan: pick Business or Business Plus, pay, and open up seats for your team
Work day to day
- 06 · Upload CAD files: web upload vs local import: which one to use, and when · 6:12
- 07 · Versions, references and where-used: read a file's history without opening SolidWorks · 6:38
- 12 · The Sibe add-in for SolidWorks, in depth: every button in the add-in panel · 9:59
Collaborate
- 08 · View SolidWorks models in any browser: rotate, section and measure, no CAD seat · 3:16
- 09 · Markup and comment on 3D models: pin feedback to the face it is about · 5:17
- 10 · Share models: links, QR codes and embeds: send a model to anyone · 3:53
Control revisions
- 11 · Releases: revisions and approvals: release an assembly in one pass · 4:17
Where to start
- New workspace, you are the Owner. Begin at 01 Create your Sibe account and work down in order through 06. Add billing once you are ready to invite the team, because the Free plan carries no seats.
- Someone invited you. Start at 02 Install the add-in, then 12 The add-in in depth. Your Owner has already handled 01, 04 and 05.
- You only review, you don't model. Read 08 View models in any browser, 09 Markup and comment and 10 Share models. You need nothing installed and no CAD seat.
What you get
You check files in and out directly in SolidWorks, and Sibe tracks every version. Assembly references keep pointing where they should. You share any model through a free public link or QR code, and reviewers open it in a browser with no Sibe account needed. Underneath it is a collaboration-first CAD Document Management platform with a native add-in for SolidWorks. No servers, no VPNs, no admin hassles.
Rather have someone walk you through it?
Book a free 20-minute demo and we will set your team up live, against your own assemblies.
