Markup and comment on 3D models

You can pin feedback to the exact face it is about, so nobody has to work out which hole the message meant. Open a markup weeks later and the model rotates back to the exact view it was made from.

Leave a markup

1. Click the Markup Tool icon in the bottom toolbar of the viewer.
2. Click the model where the feedback belongs. A pin appears there.
3. Write the comment. Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, bulleted and numbered lists, block quotes, hyperlinks and superscript are all available.
4. Draw on the model with the red-line tool if a picture says it faster.
5. Measure inside the markup when the note needs a dimension.
6. Attach a supporting file — a material specification PDF, a change-request email.
7. Tag it, so the team can tell a change request from a question.
8. Type @ and a teammate's name. They get an email with a link back to this exact view. Tag as many people as the thread needs.
9. Reply in the thread until it is settled, then set the status to closed (the video calls this resolved).

Managing markups

• The markups table expands to a full list and filters by status and other criteria
• Statuses are pending, in progress and closed
• Copy a direct link to a single markup to share it outside Sibe
• Edit a markup's content, add or remove its tags, or delete it entirely

Common questions

What is a markup in Sibe?
A comment pinned to a point on the 3D model, so the feedback and the geometry stay together.

Can I draw on the model?
Yes. The red-line tool draws directly on it.

Can I attach files to a comment?
Yes, any supporting file.

How do I notify someone?
Mention them with @. They get an email containing a link back to the exact view of the model.

What are tags for?
They label the thread, so a change request reads differently from a general question when someone scans the list. Your Owner creates the tag list in Settings.

Do markups work on drawings too?
Yes, on drawings as well as 3D models.
