Workspace settings: metadata, sync and references

You can shape how your whole workspace behaves from one Settings page: which custom properties come through from SOLIDWORKS® 3D CAD, which folders cache locally, and how missing references get resolved.

What you set for the whole team

• Metadata — choose which SolidWorks custom properties appear as columns, and add your own
• Subscription — see your seat counts, storage and billing dates in one place
• Sync policy — decide which top-level folders cache locally for everyone
• Missing references — find files whose references broke and apply suggested fixes
• Users — invite people, set seats and roles
• Tags — create the tags your team uses on comments and versions

Workspace-level settings are for Owners, so one person sets the standard for the team.

Metadata

Add the property name under Settings → Metadata and it appears as a column against your files. Article numbers, materials, finish, ESD class, modification history — whatever your team already writes into custom properties in SolidWorks.

Sync policy

You decide which top-level folders cache to a local machine automatically. Set it once and every workspace member gets the same behavior.

Missing references

You review files whose references could not be resolved on the Missing References page, and confirm the suggested matches.

Tags

You tag comments and versions, so a change request looks different from a general question when someone scans the list.

Create one:

1. Click New Tag, upper right of the tag list.
2. Give it a descriptive name — "change order", "critical", "review".
3. Pick a display color.
4. Write a short description of what it is for, so the team uses it the same way.
5. Set where it applies: Comments, Versions, or both.
6. Click Create Tag, then refresh the page. New tags appear in the list after a refresh.

You can edit the name, color, description and usage later, and delete Sibe's default tags if they do not fit how your team works.

Who can change these settings?
Workspace Owners.

Can I pull my own SolidWorks custom properties into Sibe?
Yes. Add the property name under Metadata and it appears as a column.

Why doesn't my new tag show up?
Refresh the page.

Do I have to set this up before importing files?
No, but doing metadata and sync policy first saves re-work.
