Model and Drawing Viewer
Viewing and Interacting with 3D Models in the Sibe Web Dashboard
This guide covers how to view your 3D CAD documents in the Sibe Web Dashboard viewer. You will learn how to generate the model view, explore the versions and model objects trees, and use the various 3D viewing and measurement tools.
Generating Your 3D Model View
When you upload a CAD document, especially through a mass upload process, a view of the 3D model is not always created automatically for the first iteration.
- Open a CAD document that has been uploaded to your Workspace.
- If the 3D model view has not been generated, click the Create View button.
- The system will begin converting the CAD document to Sibe’s proprietary 3D model format. For smaller assemblies, this conversion process typically takes around two minutes.

Exploring the Model Viewer Interface
Once the 3D model has been created, you can rotate the model using the left mouse button. The interface is divided into the main viewing area and two primary information panels on the left.
The Versions Tree
Located in the top-left, the Versions Tree displays a complete chronological list of all saved Versions and Revisions for the selected file.
For each entry in the tree, you have two primary actions:
- Download: Download that specific Version of the CAD document.
- Submit for Release: Submit the file to be processed through your team's approval workflow, which will assign a formal Revision (for approved releases, e.g., A1, B1).

The Model Objects Tree
The Model Objects Tree shows every instance of every CAD document used within the assembly you are viewing. This helps you understand the hierarchy and contents of your model.
From this tree, you have three key options to control the display of individual components:
- Isolate: This option will show only the selected file, hiding all other components in the assembly.
- Hide: This will hide the individual selected file from the 3D view.
- Zoom to Fit: This instantly centers and zooms the view to fit the selected file in the main panel.
You can also collapse individual sub-assemblies in the tree to simplify the view, or use the built-in search functionality to quickly find a component by name.

Using the 3D Viewer Tools
The icons along the bottom of the viewer panel provide a suite of tools for model analysis and navigation.
- Measure Tool: Use this tool to take precise dimensions directly from the model.
- Click two points on the model to get a linear measurement.
- Click three points on the model to get a diameter measurement.
- Model Edges: Click to toggle the visibility of model edges for greater clarity in the 3D view.
- Section View: Click and then pull down one of the axis arrows to generate a cross-sectional view of the model.
- Home Button: Click to immediately reset the view to the default isometric orientation.
- Camera Modes: Switch between viewing control modes.
- Orbit Camera Mode: Rotates the camera around the model's center point.
- Free Camera Mode: Allows for a first-person, fly-through-style navigation.
- Rotate About an Axis: Use this option to align the view to a specific axis.
- Screenshot: Click this button, and a Download button will appear, allowing you to save the generated screenshot to your browser's default download location.
- Navigation Tips: If you need a reminder on how to control the view with your mouse, click this icon. This also shows the mobile touch controls for rotate, pan, and zoom.

What's Next?
The next step is learning how to collaborate with your team. Continue to the guide on the Markup Tool and Sharing to learn how to add annotations and share your model views with others.
