Sibe PDM | What's New in January 2026
What’s New Sibe PDM January 2026
Sibe PDM has had a major overhaul. Both in front and behind the curtain. We have listened to your requests and have started from the ground up to bring you those changes. We are off to an amazing start in 2026. And here are those changes:
1. Upload through the Web Dashboard
As the title suggests, you can now upload SolidWorks files through the Web Dashboard. Upload files individually or an entire folder's worth.

This method also supports sub-folders. Speaking of:
2. Multi-Level Folder Support
Create as many layers of folders as needed. Try to remember that when these files cache, Windows does have a 255-character file name + path limit.
3. Settings UI
Settings now is located on the sidebar, and under Settings is where Tags and Add-Ins are now located.

4. Releasing Files now locks released files
By popular demand. Releasing files now automatically locks files. This prevents released files from being checked out. Those that are owners of that folder must unlock files that need changes.

5. Tabs!
The Add-In UI has been overhauled as well. We no longer have the Import Tab. Files can be Imported through the Web Dashboard or just checked in through the local cache.
Tabs now include:
- Vault
- Changes
- References
- Settings
6. Vault Tab
The Vault Tab is where our active file list is shown. Select a Project and all the files and folders are shown below.

- Refresh to show any added Folders within this project.
- Open the local cache folder to add new files.
- There is now a Tree View (Shown) and a Flat View (Folder Structure Removed).

From this view, files can be double-clicked to open, or right-clicked to Check Out (if file is open or not).
Selecting a file now shows the File Properties as well. And is that an excel file that is shown in the Vault folder? Why yes it is. And yes, you can check that file out and open it. It will open in Excel on your machine. Make your edits, save, and close. Then check it back in through the add-in.
**Most importantly, you can now work with multiple files at once, as the add-in will no longer close other files when Checking-In or Checking-Out! **

Now when files are open, those files are shown in bold for added clarity.

Files that have been checked-out have the checked-out symbol. Files that have been edited have the pencil symbol. Once edits are done, and files are ready to be checked in, the Changes tab is now where files are checked in.

The Changes tab will show all the files that have been checked out and that have been edited in the Project selected. Here you can choose to check in one file, or all the files. Or any combination between.

Version notes are still required, and the buttons for undo check-out, check-in, and roll-back are still there. Once files are checked in, the changes tab will be empty.

Working in an assembly sometimes requires new parts to be imported to the vault. This is now easier than ever. For example, we needed new hardware that we downloaded from McMaster-Carr. But we want that in a completely different folder. Change the project to where, in your local cache, you placed your new files. Once you change the project, it will see the new files that have not yet been added to the vault. Select those files and click the check-in button. These files do not have to be open. And we have a new symbol for files that have never been added to the vault. The green circle with the plus sign symbolizes files that have been added locally but not added to the vault. Tick the boxes and check in.

The References tab will show your parts, assemblies & drawings and how they relate to each other.
The Settings tab remains unchanged.
7. Local Import
Files can also be imported from the local cache. Here a new project has been made in the Web Dashboard. Coming back to the add-in, hit the refresh button next to the projects pulldown and after the refresh, select your new project. This folder will cache locally.

Here you can copy any new (i.e. not in the vault) files to the new project folder. After the copy to the local cache folder, head over to the Changes tab to check them in. Hit refresh, and you will see the new list of components.

Check each box, add version notes and hit the Check-In button. This will support the folder structure you have for these files and import the sub-folders exactly the way they are in the local cache.

8. Settings Tab
The settings tab is unchanged.
